How To - Oysters

HOW TO SHUCK AN OYSTER

Firstly, any shucking demo you've seen before illustrates a complex method which involves oyster knives, gloves, and is seemingly very difficult. It's in fact not actually the case, and we've developed a simple technique which is as easy as opening the lock of a front door.
Best of all, you don't need an oyster knife.

Here are the simple facts as to why you should always choose to open your own oysters over buying frozen or pre shucked oysters:

OPENING YOURSELF

  • They remain alive, fresh and plump
  • They are full of sea water once opened
  • They last way longer, up to 5 days in the fridge from harvest date
  • BONUS: Once you?ve learnt our unique hack, its an amazing skill to have around friends and family alike, being able to easily open live produce for them.

PRE SHUCKED

  • They are dead, exposed to oxygen & shrivel up
  • No sea water means a dried up product lacking most of its flavour
  • They need to be consumed immediately
  • You don't actually engage with your produce on a meaningful level
